Dear Nyxcity:

Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  (Wow, on the 24th!)  Belated MERRY CHRISTMAS, too.

I am sorry for the lateness. After our office went on forced leave for the holidays last Dec. 21, I did not open my email anymore. I do hope your natal day was a really enjoyable one for you. Anyway, I am wishing you a lively, lovely, fruitful (financially and otherwise) 2011. Take care.

For The Weekend

Happy weekend, everyone!

And now, sharing a beautiful, long essay that a co-employee emailed to me today. Unfortunately, the author's name was not included. (If you know who wrote it, please tell me so that I can credit the person.)

Life is too short…

READ THIS VERY SLOWLY... IT'S PRETTY PROFOUND.

Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

I got to thinking one day about all those people on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back.  From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.

How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed?  Does the word 'refrigeration' mean nothing to you?

How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched 'Jeopardy' on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said , 'How about going to lunch in a half hour?' She would gas up and stammer, 'I can't.  I have clothes on the line.  My hair is dirty.  I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain'  And my personal favorite:  'It's Monday.' She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because People  cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches..  We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. .  We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet. We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older.  The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer.  One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of 'I'm going to,' 'I plan on,' and 'Someday, when things are settled down a bit.'

When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips.  She keeps an open mind on new ideas.  Her enthusiasm for life is contagious.  You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Rollerblades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years.  I love ice cream.  It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process.  The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-Decker.  If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now...go on and have a nice day.  Do something you WANT to...not something
on your SHOULD DO list
. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say?   ;And why are you waiting?

Make sure you read this to the end; you will understand why I sent this to you.

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground?  Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night?  Do you run through each day on the fly?  When you ask 'How are you?'  Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head?  Ever told your child, 'We'll do it tomorrow.' And in your haste, not see her sorrow?  Ever lost touch?  Let a good friendship die?  Just call to say 'Hi'?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift.....Thrown away.... Life is not a race. Take it slower.  Hear the music before the song is over.

Show your friends how much you care.  Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND  including me if you consider me a friend.  If it comes back to you, then you'll know you have a circle of friends.

To those I have sent this to... I cherish our friendship and appreciate all you do.

'Life may not be the party we hoped for...  but while we are here we might as well dance!'

I am not an American, nor am I of the Third Gender. However,
I support their right to live and love in their own way. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO BULLY OR HURT THEM because they're different. PLEASE read the column by Dr. Ben Kim as well as watch the videos. drbenkim.com/it-gets-better#comment-5018

Below is a quotation from Rita Mae Brown which Dr. Ben Kim
posted ...on his blog site. It's lovely:

"No government has the right to tell its citizens when
or whom to love. The only queer people are those who don't
love anybody."

Peace and Love to All.

It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.

My favorite song right now is "Fat-bottomed Girls" by Queen. It's a lovely song, wicked and funny, and empowering for a woman who is fat-bottomed--except that the fat kinda spread north and south so that I am rather similar to a Botero woman.

Don't know who or what a Botero woman is? View http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSHxkFB2hQ9LyaxbdEEbRLQP1CnuJVXutCH4mF3BVW9gHndmIg&t=1&usg=__qkkVca5OmM-b1-44zhI2iCJMA3Q=

Anyway, I urge you to investigate Queen's song. And if one of you decided to think that I am advocating an illegal activity depicted in the song, and refused to accept at face value the songwriter's fondly-held experience of said activity, I'll whop your ass. :)

Are you gonna take me home tonight
Ah down beside that red firelight
Are you gonna let it all hang out
Fat bottomed girls
You make the rocking world go round

Hey I was just a skinny lad
Never knew no good from bad
But I knew life before I left my nursery
Left alone with big fat Fanny
She was such a naughty nanny
Heap big woman you made a bad boy out of me
Hey hey!

I've been singing with my band
Across the wire across the land
I seen every blue eyed floozy on the way
But their beauty and their style
Went kind of smooth after a while
Take me to them dirty ladies every time

Oh won't you take me home tonight?
Oh down beside your red firelight
Oh and you give it all you got
Fat bottomed girls you make the rocking world go round
Fat bottomed girls you make the rocking world go round

Hey listen here
Now your mortgages and homes
I got stiffness in the bones
Ain't no beauty queens in this locality (I tell you)
Oh but I still get my pleasure
Still got my greatest treasure
Heap big woman you gonna make a big man out of me
Now get this

Oh you gonna take me home tonight (please)
Oh down beside your red firelight
Oh you gonna let it all hang out
Fat bottomed girls you make the rocking world go round
Fat bottomed girls you make the rocking world go round
Get on your bikes and ride

Oooh yeah them fat bottomed girls
Fat bottomed girls
Yeah yeah yeah
Fat bottomed girls
Yes yes

Bye!

Office work and Wincest

Bored with office work for days now. Much prefer to read and write Wincest fan fics, which I have been doing. Hmmm--MMMM! (triple)

The boys keep me high, without release. Never thought I'd go for Wincest, but I do.

Am in the middle of transcribing some minutes, but flash on to some delicious Wincest written by fans. AM also trying to make my own, a PWP (Porn Without Plot).

Love Dean and Sam Winchester--together or not.  Would love it more if they're not fictional and are with me as lovers/friends.

Boyssssssssss.......

Very much sorry and sad about what happened---not only for what happened to the victims and their families, but for also for the personal and diplomatic relationships and reputations it is on the verge of destroying, for the factors which led up to the deaths and pain of so many, for my country which is hurting right now.

On Supernatural Season 6

Am a late-comer to SPN fandom, having only ben serious towards it in 2009. (Before that, it was just "Prison Break" for me.)

I love the idea that there's gonna be a 6th Season. I miss the boys (both the fictional Sam and Dean and the actors who play them), their humor, their closeness.

Anyway, just wanted to say that I posted the following comment on Maureen "Mo" Ryan's THE WATCHER blog on The Chicago Tribune,

Let's talk 'Supernatural's' Friday move as the CW announces its new schedule

"Thank you for the info, Mo!

I just hope that, for Season 6, the creators/writers/producers can work in more characters who aren't white, anglo-saxon looking, or just mainstream Christians. I mean, America is much more complicated and interesting than the usual secondary casts we've seen. And, please, more female hunters and try not to let the non-Christians appear evil--which means, more research! Come on, I am sure that witches who are fans of SPN were continuously disappointed when they are called followers of Satan."
